The Sea that surrounds. The all powerful sea.

Tangaroa is the Maori name for the God of the sea.

Part of the soul of every New Zealander, the closed

circle of this piece symbolises the all encompassing

nature of the Sea in this Island Nation.

"Three Baskets of Knowledge"

The triangles refer to traditional Maori Weaving design, and the reference to 3 Kete, and to the Maori story of how knowledge was handed down by Gods. Bookended by the koru symbol, we have the idea of growth and new life coming from knowledge.
